In Episode 3 of Lost in Neverland, we step away from Roxanne’s disappearance to ask an important question: Who is Jason Kirk, and how did he get here?
Through Jason’s own words, letters from prison and conversations with his mother, we trace a childhood marked by identity struggles, abuse, foster care, instability, juvenile detention and missed opportunities for someone to intervene. His story is complicated, disturbing and sometimes contradictory. There are multiple versions of the truth and Jason’s past does not excuse the choices he made as an adult. But understanding the child he was may be essential to understanding the man he became.
This is the other side of Lost in Neverland. A story about a boy who grew up in the system, but in many ways, may never have had the chance to grow up at all.
